Your first session

Grounding comes first, and the past waits

The first session is 50 minutes. Nothing in it requires you to say what happened.

  1. Step 1: Before you come

You receive directions and a photo of the door by email. You can arrive early and sit in the waiting room for a few minutes. If you would rather call first, call.

  2. Step 2: The first ten minutes

You choose where to sit and whether the door stays open. We talk about what to call you and how you would like us to check in.

  3. Step 3: A short grounding practice

Before any other questions, we try one: feet on the floor, five things you can see, a slow breath out. You keep what helps.

  4. Step 4: What we ask, and what we do not

We ask about the present: sleep, support, your days, and what you hope to change. We do not ask for details of what happened.

  5. Step 5: The last ten minutes

We come back to the room, check how you are, and plan for the evening. We say what to do if it is hard, and who to call.

  6. Step 6: After

You decide whether to book another session. There is no pressure, and you can write to us later.

What to bring

Very little

You do not need to prepare, and you do not need to write anything down.

Bring a jacket if you run cold, and a cup if you would like tea in your own. You are welcome to bring a small object that steadies you. Rocío will ask about your payment method and give you the written estimate before you leave.

  • A small object that steadies you, if you like

  • Your own cup, or ours

Questions about the first session

Will you ask what happened to me?

No. We ask about your present life and what you would like to be different. You decide whether and when to say more.

What if I cannot speak?

Then we do not speak for a while. We can write, or sit, or look around the room. Silence is allowed.

Can someone come with me?

Someone can wait in the waiting room, and you can ask us whether you would like them in the room. Tell us ahead if you would like to.

What if I want to leave?

You can leave at any moment. We will see you out, and you can write to us later or not at all.

Ready to book a first session?

Write to us, and we will send the estimate and directions.
