Who it helps
EMDR
Adults who have already built some steadiness and who want a structured way to work with a particular memory.
EMDR has a preparation stage, and at Brume it can be long. We make sure you can come back to the present, and that you have ways to settle, before any memory is touched. When we do begin, we work in short sets, check in after each, and stop whenever you wish.
How it is done
EMDR, from an EMDRIA-approved training program
Preparation first, which may take many sessions
Short sets, with a check-in after each
Every session ends with grounding

Good to know
What this is not, how often, and how it is paid
What this is not
It is not a quick fix, and it is not for everyone. Some people do better with other methods, and some are better served by waiting. Rocío will explain the risks, including that distress can rise before it eases, before you decide.
How long and how often
Preparation has no fixed length and we do not promise a number of sessions.
How it is paid
You pay for each session at its end. You receive a written estimate before you start and a monthly receipt for your plan.

Questions
About emdr
What is EMDR?
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing is a structured therapy in which you hold a memory in mind in small pieces while following a back-and-forth stimulus, such as eye movements or tapping. It is one of several methods used with trauma.
Do I have to keep my eyes moving?
No. Tapping, sound or a hand on your knee can stand in for eye movements, and you can keep your eyes open and on the room.
Will I have to describe the memory?
Not in detail. You decide how much to say out loud, and the work can go on with very little said.
Can I stop in the middle?
Yes, at any point. We will bring you back to the present first, and then decide together what to do next.
Ready to take a first step?
Write to us and say what pace would feel right. That is enough to begin.
