Rocío Agosto
Licensed clinical social worker
The only clinician at Brume, and the person you will see at every session.
Rocío works with adults who have lived through long stretches of harm, often in childhood, and who find that their mind or body steps away when things get close. She explains what she is about to do before she does it, she asks before she changes anything, and she stops when you ask. Her work is in phases, so that steadiness comes before memory.
Her training includes EMDR, through an EMDRIA-approved program, and body-based approaches to trauma. She sees adults only, in person, at the office on Lark Street.
Her work includes
- Trauma therapy in phases
- EMDR
- Somatic work
- Dissociation and its aftermath

How she works
Four things you can count on
She says what comes next
Every exercise is explained before it starts, and you can decline it.
A pause is always allowed
You can stop, look around the room, stand up or change the subject.
Sessions end in the present
The last minutes are for coming back to the room, whatever the hour was like.
You can leave, and return
Stopping therapy is your choice, and so is starting again.
